INSTALLING YOUR OWN SYNTHETIC GRASS

Follow our steps for the perfect installation and beautiful grass

Prepare the Base

Most outdoor applications require preparation of an aggregate base to allow proper water drainage. Simply clear the surface where your syntheticgrass will be placed, removing any unwanted grass and roots.

Once clear, add a two to four-inch layer of crushed aggregate/cracker dust until achieving the desired shape and contour. Work the aggregate with a rake and hand tamp until the surface is compact and smooth.

Trim to Size

With the base prepared, position your synthetic grass and trim to shape.

If using more than one roll of lawn, make sure the turf blades or grains point in the same direction.

Tape Seams Together

To seam synthetic turf together, align two pieces of synthetic grass edge to edge and use self adhesive joining tape supplied along the length of the seam.

Secure in Place

To secure your synthetic grass, use 150mm U pins around the perimeter, along joins and where necessary to keep your synthetic grass flat.

Sand Infill

Once your synthetic grass is in place and has been secured with your U pins it's important to start the sand infill process. Apply white silica sand roughly 8-10kg per square meter and broom the sand into the turf going against the grain.

Broom your grass

Finally use a landscape rake or broom to brush the fibers up and rinse with a garden hose.

Periodic brushing and rinsing will keep your turf looking fresh, natural and beautiful.

TIP: The sand infill is very important so don’t compromise on quantity. It not only improves the look of the lawn but more importantly it protects the backing from the UV Rays.
